The corner was taken by Aurelio Vodanovic in the 17th minute. 20 minutes into the match, Purple Cobras's goal looked a bit too open when Cedro Bouzon came free, but Benjamin Maylett reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Almazarrón getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Ladio Font hit a great ball. In the 23rd match minute, Purple Cobras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brett Harper to maneuver through the defense. 25 minutes into the match, Purple Cobras's goal looked a bit too open when Cedro Bouzon came free, but Benjamin Maylett reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 28th minute, Aurelio Vodanovic sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Purple Cobras's Benjamin Maylett didn't even have to move. Benjamin Maylett took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Atilano Ruisko, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 33 minutes into the game, Amancio Harroyo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Benjamin Maylett was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 36 minutes into the match, Archibaldo Candamil had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benjamin Maylett. Purple Cobras's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Archibaldo Candamil was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Ladio Font got a throw-in 43 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Amancio Harroyo. When Stu Hislop fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Purple Cobras's protests and gave Stu Hislop a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Purple Cobras getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Stu Hislop hit a great ball. In the 45th minute, Aurelio Vodanovic left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Almazarrón fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Erwin Schrödinger stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute Aurelio Vodanovic shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benjamin Maylett saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benjamin Maylett made an important save on a dangerous shot by Amancio Harroyo in the 57th minute. After 63 minutes, Bruce Pickford mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Purple Cobras and the Almazarrón players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 63 played minutes Purple Cobras got a freekick which was hit by Bruce Pickford. 66 minutes into the game, Almazarrón's Archibaldo Candamil nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benjamin Maylett made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. A collision led to Purple Cobras getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Tod Fleetwood hit a great ball. During the 74th minute of the match Bruce Pickford completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Bruce Pickford a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 74 played minutes Purple Cobras got a freekick which was hit by Bruce Pickford. In the 83rd minute of the match Almazarrón got a corner. Purple Cobras's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Aurelio Vodanovic ran over to the corner to take the kick. Almazarrón's Madaleno Serena was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Benjamin Maylett in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Almazarrón's Aurelio Vodanovic shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 86th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Benjamin Maylett but with some difficulty. The supporters of Purple Cobras booed when Almazarrón was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aureliano Barbosa didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 94 minutes, Cedro Bouzon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Almazarrón's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cedro Bouzon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Almazarrón eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
