Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Helmuth Duckadam showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abraham Read, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Benjamin Maylett made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sandu Vasiliu in the 39th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sandu Vasiliu in the 46th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benjamin Maylett prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Erwin Schrödinger to strike the kick off in the second half. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marius Macovei in the 89th minute of play forced Purple Cobras's goalkeeper Benjamin Maylett to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Benjamin Maylett didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sandu Vasiliu went, in the 91st minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. 94 minutes into the game, Sandu Vasiliu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-1. Benjamin Maylett was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Arsenal Giulesti had played much better football throughout.
