Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Joop Hollandts in the 3rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Betinho Moura prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gustavo Gómez hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Betinho Moura made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bob Thielens in the 5th minute. In the 7th minute, Kieth De Hond hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Victor Ortle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julius Vanneste having to interfere. In the 12thth minute of the game Joop Hollandts who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but C.D PAVILHAO 9 F.C.'s Betinho Moura was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Sid Lampard recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Julius Vanneste made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victor Ortle in the 18th minute of play. Sid Lampard's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julius Vanneste read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. The C.D PAVILHAO 9 F.C. fans' excitement grew in the 33rd match minute when C.D PAVILHAO 9 F.C.'s Victor Ortle looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Sid Lampard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joop Hollandts's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Betinho Moura read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Joop Hollandts made the kick off in the second half.
