Hipolito Orlan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tincho Palermo's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. If Carlos Larpe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 42nd minute of the match, Tincho Palermo tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Hipolito Orlan saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Carlos Larpe could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Hipolito Orlan made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tincho Palermo in the 45th minute of play forced SCALONETA's goalkeeper Hipolito Orlan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jairo Magdaleno's late challenge caught a Los Materos FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Anacleto Chago to make the kick off. The supporters of Los Materos FC booed when SCALONETA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anacleto Chago didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hipolito Orlan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tincho Palermo, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Hipolito Orlan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Los Materos FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SCALONETA the free kick. If Tincho Palermo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
