It was a well-played corner which Omar Theobald managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Chu Xi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Marco Veto made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Olgierd Jazwiec in the 25th minute of play forced 上海绿地申花足球俱乐部's goalkeeper 范帆天 to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to 上海绿地申花足球俱乐部 getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Du Xiang Xi hit a great ball. Marco Veto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Olgierd Jazwiec stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Marco Veto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcos Jurgi in the 51st minute of play. Oscar Furlan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 55 minutes into the match, Rocky Balboa F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Chu Xi came free, but Marco Veto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 范帆天 took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oscar Furlan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rocky Balboa F.C.'s Dionisio Rosalio was substituted for Carolo Goito. Rocky Balboa F.C.'s Marco Veto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcos Jurgi in the 67th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Rocky Balboa F.C.'s Olgierd Jazwiec slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of 范帆天. That made the score 0-4 after 69 minutes of play.
