The supporters of Encanto booed when Atlético Nacional was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vicente Sasoin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Encanto's Nico Tasso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Alberto Azevedo in the 15th minute of play. 17 minutes into the match, Atlético Nacional's goalkeeper Teodoro Peio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bernardinho Paes. Teodoro Peio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Osvaldinho Rocha in the 19th minute. After 19 played minutes Atlético Nacional got a freekick which was hit by Alonzo Rocendo. Nico Tasso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Baldomero Rodas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 30 minutes, Osvaldinho Rocha took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Teodoro Peio to make any attempt to save it. João Adolfo Santana received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Teodoro Peio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carlos Alberto Azevedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nico Tasso having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
The wind increased when Osvaldinho Rocha made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Encanto's zone, Vicente Sasoin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nico Tasso came out of the goal and Vicente Sasoin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 64thth minute of the game Léo Travassos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Atlético Nacional's Teodoro Peio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Teodoro Peio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from João Adolfo Santana in the 69th minute of the match. 71 minutes into the game, Bernardinho Paes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Encanto's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Atlético Nacional the free kick. In the 83rd minute, Baldomero Rodas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Atlético Nacional's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
