Gordon Banks made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gencer Hisarcık in the 9th minute of play. Simon Bannenbusch fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gordon Banks having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gencer Hisarcık in the 12th minute of play forced HFA FC's goalkeeper Gordon Banks to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gordon Banks took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gencer Hisarcık, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 19thth minute of the game Serafino Chinto who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but KFC Uerdingen 05's Tymoteusz Mios was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Simon Bannenbusch in the 20th minute of play forced HFA FC's goalkeeper Gordon Banks to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tymoteusz Mios took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Serafino Chinto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 27 minutes into the match, HFA FC's goal looked a bit too open when Hartwig Engelhardt came free, but Gordon Banks reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Benjamin Abarca hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Gordon Banks came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by KFC Uerdingen 05's Simon Bannenbusch. But to his dismay, Simon Bannenbusch quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 38 minutes into the match, Brian Laudrup had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gordon Banks. HFA FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Brian Laudrup was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hermengildo Gorka to make the kick off. In the 51st minute of the match, Simon Bannenbusch got a very nice opportunity to score, but Gordon Banks was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. HFA FC's Gordon Banks played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gencer Hisarcık in the 53rd minute of play. 54 minutes into the match, KFC Uerdingen 05's goal looked a bit too open when Serafino Chinto came free, but Tymoteusz Mios reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tymoteusz Mios took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hermengildo Gorka, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hartwig Engelhardt got free with Gordon Banks in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gordon Banks didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when KFC Uerdingen 05's Gencer Hisarcık shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-3 in the ordered_time% minute. Simon Bannenbusch struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Gordon Banks didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for KFC Uerdingen 05. After 74 played minutes HFA FC got a freekick which was hit by Basilio Evarado. 78 minutes into the match, HFA FC's goal looked a bit too open when Brian Laudrup came free, but Gordon Banks reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tymoteusz Mios showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from C.J. De la Sotta in the 86th minute of the match. HFA FC's Gordon Banks proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save HFA FC from getting a goal against them. Candido Estevon kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brian Laudrup in the 94th minute of play forced HFA FC's goalkeeper Gordon Banks to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. KFC Uerdingen 05 played a much better game than HFA FC and deserved their victory. The HFA FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
