After a rather tough play, U Craiova's Călin Pamfil got a free kick in the 10th minute. When Wasyl Misiorowski came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Zurlo Team fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wasyl Misiorowski couldn't finish the play. Nae Pavel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Attilio Mammarella's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. Horea Frumușanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 50 minutes into the match, U Craiova's goalkeeper Nae Pavel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gong Guo Yi. Constantin Buzea hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. With an all-out effort, Zurlo Team's Nae Pavel threw himself towards the right post 54 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Attilio Mammarella, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 55 minutes had been played when some careless play by U Craiova's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Wasyl Misiorowski was slow to take the kick. During this time Zurlo Team's players had a chance to rest. Zurlo Team's Wasyl Misiorowski was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Nae Pavel in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The supporters of Zurlo Team booed when U Craiova was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dorin Cârstoiu didn't get a good kick on the ball. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Antonello Bosso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Romeo Crețulescu took the ball and in the 67 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Antonello Bosso. Antonello Bosso dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. The audience was convinced that Attilio Mammarella's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nae Pavel was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. Antonello Bosso didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Horea Frumușanu went, in the 73rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. When Călin Pamfil came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the U Craiova fans jumped to their feet. The corner led U Craiova's Dorin Cârstoiu to fire away a dangerous shot which Antonello Bosso despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Nae Pavel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wasyl Misiorowski in the 88th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Călin Pamfil managed to get in a good position for a shot. U Craiova's supporters rose to their feet, but Călin Pamfil was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Antonello Bosso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. U Craiova's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
