When Fabien Canu came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the Lunar Park fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fabien Canu couldn't finish the play. Stig Malmgren recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 13thth minute of the game Fabien Canu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but union española s.a.'s Enrique Enoch was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Lunar Park's Esteban Alvarado quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Mikel Dávila, made in the 16th minute of the game. If Fabien Canu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 17th minute Fabien Canu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enrique Enoch saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 18 played minutes Lunar Park got a freekick which was hit by Esteban Alvarado. Stig Malmgren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cedric Van Langhendoncx having to interfere. The supporters of Lunar Park booed when union española s.a. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mikel Dávila didn't get a good kick on the ball. 30 minutes into the game, Zenaido Vigil was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. union española s.a.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lunar Park the free kick. In the 30th minute, Zenaido Vigil hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabien Canu in the 35th minute of play forced union española s.a.'s goalkeeper Enrique Enoch to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Stig Malmgren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cedric Van Langhendoncx made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Juan Ignacio Bugueño sent off a good shot on target. In the 39th minute, Esteban Alvarado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 40 minutes into the match, Stig Malmgren dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Cedric Van Langhendoncx, 1-0. 44 minutes into the game, Stig Malmgren cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Cedric Van Langhendoncx was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, union española s.a.'s Mikel Dávila got a free kick in the 47th minute.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Stig Malmgren was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Lunar Park's zone, Juan Ignacio Bugueño stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cedric Van Langhendoncx came out of the goal and Juan Ignacio Bugueño tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Enrique Enoch took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabien Canu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Enrique Enoch made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabien Canu in the 64th minute of play. After taking down the ball on Lunar Park's corner Yazid Larnicol fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Enrique Enoch quite easily take care of the ball. If Fabien Canu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 70th minute Fabien Canu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enrique Enoch saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stig Malmgren in the 72nd minute of play forced Lunar Park's goalkeeper Cedric Van Langhendoncx to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Enrique Enoch made an important save on a dangerous shot by Yazid Larnicol in the 73rd minute. In the 76th minute of the match, Claude Ciron got a very nice opportunity to score, but Enrique Enoch was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In a very dangerous position, a player in union española s.a. fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 79th minute. Penalty! The supporters of union española s.a. booed when Lunar Park was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Esteban Alvarado didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Lunar Park's Yazid Larnicol got a free kick in the 96th minute. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
