The crowd rose to their feet as Kim Bolas kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Alejandro Verdu. That made the score 1-0 in the 12 minute of play. In the 19thth minute of the game Kim Bolas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but F.C. AMERICAN BARÇA's Alejandro Verdu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 21st minute Kim Bolas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alejandro Verdu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Antoni Villarroel in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Barrie Kerridge prevented the ball from getting in the gole. F.C. AMERICAN BARÇA's Alejandro Verdu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save F.C. AMERICAN BARÇA from getting a goal against them. The supporters of F.C. AMERICAN BARÇA booed when Sliema Dragons FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edinho de Queirós didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, F.C. AMERICAN BARÇA's Alejandro Verdu got control of the ball when Leszek Cupial tried to sneak it across the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

In the 74th minute, Antoni Villarroel made a precise shot to the right of Barrie Kerridge. Sliema Dragons FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Sliema Dragons FC's Barrie Kerridge played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bubu Denat in the 78th minute of play. AMERICAN BARÇA had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
