Dionisia's Aquilino Piearres managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Aleksander Harasimowicz in the 19 minute of the game. In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind Dionisia's goalkeeper Serafim Eanes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Serafim Eanes made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Bruno Africano sent off a good shot on target. Serafim Eanes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bruno Africano in the 24th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Arnaldo Beturian's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but José Carlos Sanches was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. Dionisia's Serafim Eanes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Dionisia from getting a goal against them. José Carlos Sanches came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by Dionisia's Arnaldo Beturian. But to his dismay, Arnaldo Beturian quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Alvinegro Carioca's José Carlos Sanches played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnaldo Beturian in the 34th minute of play. Dionisia made a substitution. Florencio Chano replaced Denis Ereinotz. The supporters of Dionisia booed when Alvinegro Carioca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Michel da Silveira didn't get a good kick on the ball. 40 minutes in the game, Arnaldo Beturian dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. José Carlos Sanches was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After the first half Dionisia were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
