The Montesclarense E.C. fans' excitement grew in the 3rd match minute when Montesclarense E.C.'s Paulão Medeiros looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Inácio Matorin got free with Edgard de Almeida in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Wilson do Nascimento in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ismael Nazario Serre saved Papunhas EC from getting behind. When Montesclarense E.C.'s Paulão Medeiros in the 17th minute got a chance for a shot 17th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Papunhas EC's goalie prevented a goal. Papunhas EC's Ismael Nazario Serre played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulão Medeiros in the 18th minute of play. In the 22nd minute, Valdemar de Moraes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Edgard de Almeida was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Ismael Nazario Serre showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulão Medeiros in the 26th minute of the match. Ismael Nazario Serre made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wilson do Nascimento in the 36th minute of play. In the 38th minute Paulão Medeiros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ismael Nazario Serre saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 41st minute, Agostinho de Carvalho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Paulão Medeiros in the 46th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ismael Nazario Serre prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 47th minute Paulão Medeiros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ismael Nazario Serre saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Paulão Medeiros to strike the kick off in the second half. Paulão Medeiros in the 51stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ismael Nazario Serre, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Ismael Nazario Serre made an important save on a dangerous shot by Paulão Medeiros in the 53rd minute. With his leg Ismael Nazario Serre managed to avoid a goal in the 59thth minute, when Montesclarense E.C.'s Paulão Medeiros fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When Papunhas EC's Paulo Vander in the 62nd minute got a chance for a shot 62nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Montesclarense E.C.'s goalie prevented a goal. Paulão Medeiros who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 66thth minute tested the skills of Ismael Nazario Serre when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 67th match minute, Papunhas EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Agostinho de Carvalho to maneuver through the defense. Papunhas EC's Ismael Nazario Serre proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save Papunhas EC from getting a goal against them. Paulão Medeiros could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Ismael Nazario Serre made a huge save. Edgard de Almeida made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Inácio Matorin in the 90th minute of play. After 91 minutes, Wilson do Nascimento mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Montesclarense E.C. and the Papunhas EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Montesclarense E.C.'s Wilson do Nascimento got a free kick in the 91st minute. If Inácio Matorin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
