Baltasar Sancho was out of position in the 33 minute of play, and Hauk Hareide capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Hauk Hareide really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. In the 37th minute, Fausto Uxio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Sacro Balompié's zone, Dariusz Motyl stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Baltasar Sancho came out of the goal and Dariusz Motyl tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Hauk Hareide came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the La Bichineta fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hauk Hareide couldn't finish the play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hauk Hareide to make the kick off. Silvestre Peli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miguel Almiron, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 53 minutes into the game, Bonifacio Cedro threw the ball into play from the sideline. La Bichineta's Toto Ferdi quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. La Bichineta's Silvestre Peli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jeremias Gaueko in the 57th minute of play. 58 minutes into the match, Jeremias Gaueko dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Silvestre Peli, 1-2. La Bichineta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Felix Castel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
