Alonzo Cordarin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from François Rouvrais in the 8th minute of play. Feliks Ludwa got a throw-in 14 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Pompiliu Roşculeţ. After a defensive mix-up in Crosmayo FC's zone, François Rouvrais stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alonzo Cordarin came out of the goal and François Rouvrais tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 20th minute, Teofil Gierlach reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Johnny Banks. The goal made the score 1-0. Alonzo Cordarin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thoralf Blohm, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pompiliu Roşculeţ took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alonzo Cordarin. Alonzo Cordarin dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. FC Hamburg's Feliks Ludwa quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Mehmet Halis Sacid, made in the 29th minute of the game. 35 minutes into the match, Crosmayo FC's goal looked a bit too open when François Rouvrais came free, but Alonzo Cordarin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 37th minute FC Hamburg were awarded a corner. Hendrik Holletschek went to the cornerflag to take it. It was a well-played corner which Pompiliu Roşculeţ managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. After 38 minutes of play, Crosmayo FC's Teofil Gierlach made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Johnny Banks was left in no man's land by his defense there! The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when François Rouvrais stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Crosmayo FC's Teofil Gierlach in the 51st minute got a chance for a shot 51st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. When Ernesto Bastiaro fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Crosmayo FC's protests and gave Ernesto Bastiaro a yellow card for diving instead. Ernesto Bastiaro kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. FC Hamburg's Rainer Bethge was substituted for Markus Heimrath. Crosmayo FC made a substitution. Michail Antonio replaced Domingo Hartz. Crosmayo FC made a substitution. Muhammad Bejaoui's late challenge caught a Crosmayo FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Muhammad Bejaoui helped the player get up and apologised. After having played for 90 minutes, Teofil Gierlach managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Crosmayo FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Teofil Gierlach was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to FC Hamburg getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Feliks Ludwa hit a great ball. In the 95th minute, 巩卫浩 hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. FC Hamburg were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
