In the 15th minute Jens-Ove Lindkvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vladimiro Onofre saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Epifanio Bernabel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 22ndth minute of the game Romulo Locaio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but IFK Göteborg's Christian Wenerdahl was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Christian Wenerdahl took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emilio Baumar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ingvar Hellgren to strike the kick off in the second half. When the match had gone on for 52 minutes, Romulo Locaio put it in 5-0 from a short distance just to the right of Christian Wenerdahl. Christian Wenerdahl made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Romulo Locaio in the 70th minute of play. In the 71st minute, 王震适 hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Oliviero Moreno was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 83 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in IFK Göteborg fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 82nd minute. Penalty! After 89 played minutes IFK Göteborg got a freekick which was hit by Ingvar Hellgren. Christian Wenerdahl made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Epifanio Bernabel in the 89th minute of play. Christian Wenerdahl was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match.
