Ediberto Righi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfredo Geleberto in the 14th minute of play. In the 15th minute Gimnasia y tiro were awarded a corner. Esben Nordborg went to the cornerflag to take it. Gimnasia y tiro's Esben Nordborg was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ediberto Righi in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Alfredo Geleberto might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ediberto Righi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alfredo Geleberto ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfredo Geleberto in the 21st minute of play forced lןןl La Coconeta's goalkeeper Ediberto Righi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 24 minutes, Wieslaw Panasewicz successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 27 minutes into the match, Alfredo Geleberto had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ediberto Righi. lןןl La Coconeta's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alfredo Geleberto was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Gimnasia y tiro made a substitution. Zhuang Fan Jing replaced Levent Resulhan. Gimnasia y tiro's Wieslaw Panasewicz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martin Payero in the 31st minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Martin Payero in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Wieslaw Panasewicz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After the first half Gimnasia y tiro were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Gimnasia y tiro's Reynaldo Montrelle was substituted for Alfredo Geleberto. Gimnasia y tiro's Luisito Eguntsenti was substituted for Victoriano Ubelteso. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Martin Payero was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Gimnasia y tiro's goal looked a bit too open when Sebastian Fernandez came free, but Wieslaw Panasewicz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alexis Maldonado made in the 54th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Alejandro Cabrera immediately put the ball in play. Walter Erviti struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Wieslaw Panasewicz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for lןןl La Coconeta. If José Luis Sánchez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The throw-in from Alexis Maldonado in the 70th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Gimnasia y tiro's Bernardino Quintin. Esben Nordborg might have been able to make a better finish in the 72nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ediberto Righi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Esben Nordborg ran back to his position shaking his head. 74 minutes into the game, one of lןןl La Coconeta:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. After some careless play in the lןןl La Coconeta defense, Esben Nordborg kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ediberto Righi. The lןןl La Coconeta fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ediberto Righi should have stopped the shot. After 79 played minutes lןןl La Coconeta got a freekick which was hit by Martin Payero. When Gimnasia y tiro's Reynaldo Montrelle in the 82nd minute got a chance for a shot 82nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye lןןl La Coconeta's goalie prevented a goal. In the 82nd minute, Endre Szentes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 85th minute lןןl La Coconeta were awarded a corner. Jorge Jiménez went to the cornerflag to take it. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Martin Payero in the 89th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wieslaw Panasewicz saved Gimnasia y tiro from getting behind. Ediberto Righi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reynaldo Montrelle, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. In the 93rd minute, Reynaldo Montrelle made a precise shot to the right of Ediberto Righi. lןןl La Coconeta's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. Wieslaw Panasewicz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Josemir Lujambio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
