Spectators: 165 (Terracing: 124, Seating: 38, VIP seats: 3) WAU team's Luiz Fernando de Toledo started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in Boroondara Milan's zone, Paulo Paiva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bath Boyce came out of the goal and Paulo Paiva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arty Shearn in the 6th minute of play forced WAU team's goalkeeper Benjamim Nunes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bath Boyce showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abel Prado in the 8th minute of the match. If Kris Pearse had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luiz Fernando de Toledo in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bath Boyce prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Drake Sobczak hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Fernandão Lopes hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. After 17 played minutes Boroondara Milan got a freekick which was hit by Ned Mills. Paulo Paiva took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bath Boyce. Bath Boyce dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Boroondara Milan were furious when Ned Mills was red carded, 22 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The supporters of WAU team booed when Boroondara Milan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ned Mills didn't get a good kick on the ball. 25 minutes into the match, WAU team's goal looked a bit too open when Kris Pearse came free, but Benjamim Nunes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 25 minutes into the game, Boroondara Milan's Kris Pearse nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benjamim Nunes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. With a little luck, WAU team's Benjamim Nunes got control of the ball when Paco Everett tried to sneak it across the goal line. Luiz Fernando de Toledo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bath Boyce having to make a save. In the 36th minute Boroondara Milan were awarded a corner. Drake Sobczak went to the cornerflag to take it. Kris Pearse sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jorginho Novaes kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Bath Boyce was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Abel Prado showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-3 in the 50 minute of play. After a rather tough play, WAU team's Paulo Paiva got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Benjamim Nunes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paco Everett, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A hard shot 56 in the game by Luiz Fernando de Toledo from a close distance when the talented Bath Boyce managed to make a qualified save. Boroondara Milan's players were relieved. If Luiz Fernando de Toledo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 68 minutes into the game, WAU team's Luiz Fernando de Toledo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bath Boyce made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. If Jason Sperling had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 74th match minute, Boroondara Milan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Long Worsley to maneuver through the defense. After 76 minutes of play, WAU team's Abel Prado made it 1-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bath Boyce was left in no man's land by his defense there! Boroondara Milan's Bath Boyce played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Fernando de Toledo in the 83rd minute of play. Arty Shearn hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Jason Sperling blasted a shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Benjamim Nunes having to make a save. In the 95th minute, Arty Shearn hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The WAU team supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing WAU team would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
