In the 10th minute Clodoveo Ponce shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gerard Verhaghe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Clodoveo Ponce's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gerard Verhaghe was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

MKS Pogoń Szczecin's Ignacy Rzegotka was substituted for Roch Chowaniec. Clodoveo Ponce scored 5-0 in the 53rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gerard Verhaghe, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Gerard Verhaghe made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 7-0. If Ovando Vera had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. There was no doubt that MKS Pogoń Szczecin were the better team. MKS Pogoń Szczecin's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
