The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ray Pincini recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 2nd minute. Attilio Gentile made an important save on a dangerous shot by Semih Şentürk in the 5th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Semih Şentürk got free with Attilio Gentile in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Semih Şentürks short, quick shot in the 14thth minute got Attilio Gentile to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Attilio Gentile showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Semih Şentürk, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Devebağırtan Gücü F. C.'s Attilio Gentile played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anak Dewa in the 22nd minute of play. A collision led to Devebağırtan Gücü F. C. getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Nicanor Salvidor hit a great ball. Anak Dewa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Attilio Gentile tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Anak Dewa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Attilio Gentile made a huge save. Ulysses Novaes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Micky Clausøe, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Semih Şentürk in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Attilio Gentile saved Devebağırtan Gücü F. C. from getting behind. When Devebağırtan Gücü F. C.'s Ray Pincini in the 36th minute got a chance for a shot 36th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Calopsita EC's goalie prevented a goal. Semih Şentürk could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Attilio Gentile made a huge save. Luiz Fábio Arósio came free with the goalkeeper in the 44th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Attilio Gentile could save by the left post. Calopsita EC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Zane Wrigley in the 45th minute. A nice corner shot did that Zane Wrigley got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Attilio Gentile quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Micky Clausøe's late challenge caught a Calopsita EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Micky Clausøe helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Calopsita EC booed when Devebağırtan Gücü F. C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Micky Clausøe didn't get a good kick on the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Semih Şentürk made a kick off. In the 53rd minute of the match Calopsita EC got a corner. Devebağırtan Gücü F. C.'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Zane Wrigley ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Calopsita EC's Zane Wrigley to fire away a dangerous shot which Attilio Gentile despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 55th minute Edu Santos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Attilio Gentile saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Semih Şentürk's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Attilio Gentile was relentless in the 57th minute of the game. If Anak Dewa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Calopsita EC's Ulysses Novaes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save Calopsita EC from getting a goal against them.
