In the 18th minute Kalidou Koulibaly shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Massa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Beniamin Bendyk showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Therkild Prendorf, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Pascual Elivareo kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. João Massa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ahmet Gökalp Armağan in the 37th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, UFC STEAUA's Hermengildo Jobo got a free kick in the 38th minute. A collision led to UFC STEAUA getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Nelson Mendoza hit a great ball. In the 47th minute, Nelson Mendoza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Şinasi Derem stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, UFC STEAUA's goal looked a bit too open when Ahmet Gökalp Armağan came free, but João Massa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. UFC STEAUA's João Massa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Şinasi Derem in the 56th minute of play. Beniamin Bendyk showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nelson Mendoza, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. In the 62nd match minute, UFC STEAUA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Şamil Darcan to maneuver through the defense. João Massa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Şinasi Derem, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Barbaros Hisar's late challenge caught a UFC STEAUA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Barbaros Hisar helped the player get up and apologised. Barbaros Hisar hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. After 77 played minutes UFC STEAUA got a freekick which was hit by Therkild Prendorf. UFC STEAUA's attack was well implemented in the 80th minute, but when Cezar Alexandru was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. João Massa made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Kalidou Koulibaly sent off a good shot on target. A hard shot 89 in the game by Kalidou Koulibaly from a close distance when the talented João Massa managed to make a qualified save. UFC STEAUA's players were relieved. Enaut Ziguenza made in the 93rd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Therkild Prendorf immediately put the ball in play. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
