The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 21 minutes, Cezar Alexandru managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. UFC STEAUA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cezar Alexandru was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 25 minutes into the match, UFC STEAUA's goal looked a bit too open when Abdelbassir Cestarolli came free, but João Massa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. João Massa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abdelbassir Cestarolli in the 27th minute of the match. 29 minutes into the game, Cestarolli FC's Abdelbassir Cestarolli nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. João Massa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. In the 31st minute Cezar Alexandru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reynaldo Cestarolli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Abdelbassir Cestarolli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cezar Alexandru to strike the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Hermengildo Jobo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Reynaldo Cestarolli breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Cestarolli FC booed when UFC STEAUA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Şamil Darcan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Abdelbassir Cestarolli's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but João Massa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. Abdelbassir Cestarolli had several of the UFC STEAUA's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 60 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-4 score and a disappointed João Massa as he didn't even see the shot coming. João Massa made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Abdelbassir Cestarolli sent off a good shot on target. Sixto Felipo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Massa having to interfere. UFC STEAUA's João Massa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bebeto Cestarolli in the 90th minute of play. 91 minutes into the game, Şamil Darcan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. UFC STEAUA's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cestarolli FC the free kick. In the 91st minute, Şamil Darcan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bebeto Cestarolli scored 0-5 in the 92nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of João Massa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
