Luisito Antequera kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. After 84 minutes of play, Esmeraldas S.C.'s Damian Maftei made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ronaldo Medeiros was left in no man's land by his defense there! Esmeraldas S.C.'s Oskar Petersson got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Esmeraldas S.C. supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Esmeraldas S.C. would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
