David Banegas took the ball and in the 4 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Javier Frederik. Javier Frederik dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benito Ariando in the 7th minute of play forced Esmeralda AFC's goalkeeper Danijel Subašić to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 9 played minutes Universitario Pincharrata got a freekick which was hit by Ryan West. With an all-out effort, Esmeralda AFC's Javier Frederik threw himself towards the right post 11 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Andrew Dalli, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 14th minute Andrew Dalli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Javier Frederik saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eloy Calvino in the 16th minute of play forced Universitario Pincharrata's goalkeeper Javier Frederik to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 18 minutes into the match, Universitario Pincharrata's goal looked a bit too open when Nicasio Fonda came free, but Javier Frederik reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 19th minute of the match Esmeralda AFC got a corner. Universitario Pincharrata's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Devidatta Vendetta ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Andrew Dalli got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Result 2-0. 19 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benito Ariando in the 23rd minute of play forced Esmeralda AFC's goalkeeper Danijel Subašić to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ryan West hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. The supporters of Esmeralda AFC booed when Universitario Pincharrata was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claudio Marangoni didn't get a good kick on the ball. Javier Frederik showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andrew Dalli, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. In the 33rd minute, Benito Ariando left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Universitario Pincharrata fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Jani Pakaslahti kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. After 38 minutes Universitario Pincharrata's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Devidatta Vendetta who took care of the corner kick. 42 minutes into the game, Andrew Dalli recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Javier Frederik. Andrew Dalli showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-1. Ryan West sent away a hard shot on goal in the 49th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Universitario Pincharrata made a substitution. Severin Evertsen replaced Santiago Ascacíbar. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

The wind increased when Benito Ariando made the kick off in the second half. Javier Frederik made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eloy Calvino in the 58th minute of play. Benito Ariando could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Danijel Subašić made a huge save. Benito Ariando's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Danijel Subašić read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. A collision led to Universitario Pincharrata getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Mariano Pavone hit a great ball. Universitario Pincharrata made a substitution. Eleuterio Galo replaced Benito Ariando. Mariano Pavone hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Universitario Pincharrata's zone, David Banegas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Javier Frederik came out of the goal and David Banegas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Danijel Subašić came out of the goal and Eleuterio Galo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 75 minutes into the game, Eleuterio Galo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Danijel Subašić was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A hard shot 79 in the game by Eleuterio Galo from a close distance when the talented Danijel Subašić managed to make a qualified save. Esmeralda AFC's players were relieved. Danijel Subašić made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eleuterio Galo in the 82nd minute of play. If David Banegas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Danijel Subašić came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by Universitario Pincharrata's Eleuterio Galo. But to his dismay, Eleuterio Galo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-3. Danijel Subašić made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eleuterio Galo in the 92nd minute. Universitario Pincharrata's Eleuterio Galo got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 99th minute, Eleuterio Galo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Universitario Pincharrata's supporters rose to their feet, but Eleuterio Galo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Danijel Subašić breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Universitario Pincharrata players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Esmeralda AFC from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
