An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcelo Zalayeta in the 41st minute of play forced Twelve Ravens's goalkeeper Roland Vanden Broucke to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Reinard Hennes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cafu Negri having to make a save. In the 44th minute Agustín Alvarez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roland Vanden Broucke saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON's Asım Arif Rasi got a free kick in the 45th minute. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Reinard Hennes to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON's Asım Arif Rasi got a free kick in the 54th minute. In the 59th minute, Yanick Goosens hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 63rd minute, PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON's Marcelo Zalayeta ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Roland Vanden Broucke. Roland Vanden Broucke yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-1. PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON's Rogelio Cosca was substituted for Usain Bolt. 69 minutes into the match, PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON's goal looked a bit too open when Reinard Hennes came free, but Cafu Negri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Roland Vanden Broucke made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Procopio Mayorga in the 73rd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rogelio Cosca in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Roland Vanden Broucke prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Reinard Hennes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Twelve Ravens's Jamie Figaro was substituted for Reinard Hennes. 82 minutes into the match, Twelve Ravens's goalkeeper Roland Vanden Broucke had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marcelo Zalayeta. Roland Vanden Broucke stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Procopio Mayorga's shot from short distance in the 96th minute. When the match was over PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Twelve Ravens throughout the match.
