The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 8 minutes into the match, GreenUnited's Edward Chaniago sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cafu Negri narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Cafu Negri took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edward Chaniago, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cafu Negri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yaman Akar in the 14th minute of play. If Edward Chaniago had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sebastián Torrico took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcelo Zalayeta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Frans Laine hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Cafu Negri made an important save on a dangerous shot by Joao Zuazo in the 36th minute. After taking down the ball on GreenUnited's corner Fertus Rigues fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Cafu Negri quite easily take care of the ball. Sebastián Torrico stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Agustín Alvarez's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. Usain Bolt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 44 minutes into the game, Usain Bolt was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave GreenUnited the free kick. In the 44th minute, Usain Bolt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 46th minute Agustín Alvarez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebastián Torrico saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

GreenUnited's Max Stevens was substituted for Yaman Akar. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Agustín Alvarez made a kick off. Asa Norberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cafu Negri having to interfere. 61 minutes into the match, PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON's goal looked a bit too open when Max Stevens came free, but Cafu Negri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of GreenUnited booed when PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Usain Bolt didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 65 played minutes PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON got a freekick which was hit by Usain Bolt. In the 69th minute Marcelo Zalayeta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebastián Torrico saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sebastián Torrico came out of the goal in the 69th minute to try and stop a shot by PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON's Marcelo Zalayeta. But to his dismay, Marcelo Zalayeta quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 78th minute Edward Chaniago shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cafu Negri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cafu Negri showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edward Chaniago, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. GreenUnited's Sebastián Torrico played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Procopio Mayorga in the 82nd minute of play. In the 84th minute Jordy Cadiz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebastián Torrico saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cafu Negri took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Max Farr, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 92nd minute, Ovidiu Şerbănescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 94th match minute, GreenUnited was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ovidiu Şerbănescu to maneuver through the defense. With an all-out effort, PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON's Sebastián Torrico threw himself towards the right post 97 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Marcelo Zalayeta, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
