The supporters of Wolverhampton booed when General Velásquez was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gustav Tidéksson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Per-Oskar Ahlstedt hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sotiris Koupepes to make the kick off. Åke Söderqwist kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. After 53 minutes Wolverhampton's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Renato Goycolea who took care of the corner kick. In the 54th minute, Edmund Almkvist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 57 played minutes General Velásquez got a freekick which was hit by Anselmo Johans. Henry Tucknott made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Librado Pamperin in the 58th minute of play. Sotiris Koupepes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Henry Tucknott read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. Wolverhampton made a substitution. Kang Hong Zhan replaced Librado Pamperin. With an all-out effort, General Velásquez's Thomas Runeberg threw himself towards the right post 73 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Apolo Irigoyen, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 76 minutes into the game, Renato Goycolea was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. General Velásquez's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Wolverhampton the free kick. Renato Goycolea hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. When the match was over General Velásquez could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Wolverhampton throughout the match.
