The supporters of Catarinense F.C. booed when Yala was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Generoso Pinto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Yala's Zeledon Curcio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Yala from getting a goal against them. In the 31st minute Georgiy Voroshilov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zeledon Curcio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 32 minutes into the game, Jorge Ler recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Zeledon Curcio. Jorge Ler showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. In the 34th play minute Georgiy Voroshilov came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Zeledon Curcio. 2-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gernando Cordeiro got free with Zeledon Curcio in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 41st minute Freddy Valentine shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Chilavert saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 42nd minute, Gernando Cordeiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Zeledon Curcio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gernando Cordeiro in the 44th minute of the match. 47 minutes into the match, Yala's goal looked a bit too open when Lucas Papacharalabous came free, but Zeledon Curcio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Freddy Valentine was the one to do the kick off. Zeledon Curcio came out of the goal in the 56th minute to try and stop a shot by Catarinense F.C.'s Gernando Cordeiro. But to his dismay, Gernando Cordeiro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Amarante Sierra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zeledon Curcio having to interfere. Zeledon Curcio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Georgiy Voroshilov in the 65th minute of play. Carolo Bizen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. José Chilavert tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Catarinense F.C. made a substitution. Domingo Cavallo replaced Zhu Chao Guang. Catarinense F.C.'s supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
