After some careless play in the C.A. Boca Juniors defense, Mané Lara kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pedro Monte. The C.A. Boca Juniors fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pedro Monte should have stopped the shot. Mané Lara recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Mané Lara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. Boca Juniors's Pedro Monte played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mané Lara in the 18th minute of play. 20 minutes into the game, Mané Lara cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Pedro Monte was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 32nd minute of the match, Mané Lara got a very nice opportunity to score, but Pedro Monte was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. If Alesandro Coutinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pedro Monte didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mané Lara went, in the 39th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The supporters of Joinville United - FSCMZ booed when C.A. Boca Juniors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mario Domenec didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pedro Monte stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mané Lara's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. If Alesandro Coutinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. In the 89th minute the ball was on its way in behind C.A. Boca Juniors's goalkeeper Pedro Monte, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Pedro Monte took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lennart Khan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Joinville United - FSCMZ fully deserved thier win.
