After 10 minutes, Emiliano Di Luzio made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. FC Płoszyce's Pawel Hodyl tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 17th match minute, FC Płoszyce was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Olaf Sliwinski to maneuver through the defense. When the match had gone on for 20 minutes, Emiliano Di Luzio took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Pawel Hodyl to make any attempt to save it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Enzo Cinalli in the 47th minute of play forced FC Płoszyce's goalkeeper Pawel Hodyl to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Emiliano Di Luzio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 48th minute of the match, but Pawel Hodyl made a huge save. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Pawel Hodyl made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emiliano Di Luzio in the 52nd minute of play. With a little luck, CA Boca Jrs's Adriano Alfieri got control of the ball when Miroslaw Molski tried to sneak it across the goal line. The corner led CA Boca Jrs's Ermanno Marrone to fire away a dangerous shot which Pawel Hodyl despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. CA Boca Jrs's Emiliano Di Luzio got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. CA Boca Jrs's Alfredo Toschi was substituted for Emiliano Di Luzio. In the 65th minute Enzo Cinalli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pawel Hodyl saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alfredo Toschi might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pawel Hodyl. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alfredo Toschi ran back to his position shaking his head. Pawel Hodyl took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfredo Toschi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. CA Boca Jrs's Biagio Melchiorre was substituted for Cristiano Di Rocco.
