Arthur Bufi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaime Cordero in the 20th minute of play. In the 24th minute of the match Cruzeiro Esporte Clube got a corner. Racing Club【LBF】's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Oswaldo Maranhense ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Oswaldo Maranhense got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Marcelo Eufemio quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gwidon Cwojdak in the 30th minute of play forced Racing Club【LBF】's goalkeeper Marcelo Eufemio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's 余永川 slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Marcelo Eufemio. That made the score 4-0 after 37 minutes of play. Gogo Geleberto made in the 43rd minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Eulalio Aimar. Camilo Ticho charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Camilo Ticho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Cruzeiro Esporte Clube booed when Racing Club【LBF】 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Ticho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marcelo Eufemio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gwidon Cwojdak in the 50th minute of play.

The wind increased when Gwidon Cwojdak made the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that 余永川's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marcelo Eufemio was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. 余永川 took the ball and in the 57 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marcelo Eufemio. Marcelo Eufemio dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's Douglas Botelho was substituted for Hélder Lara. After 61 played minutes Racing Club【LBF】 got a freekick which was hit by Gogo Geleberto. After some careless play in the Racing Club【LBF】 defense, Gwidon Cwojdak kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcelo Eufemio. The Racing Club【LBF】 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcelo Eufemio should have stopped the shot. The nice shot from Lisandro Lopez in the 71stth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Arthur Bufi had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. 74 minutes in the game Gogo Geleberto did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Lisandro Lopez. 77 minutes into the game, 余永川 cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 7-0. Marcelo Eufemio was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 83 minutes into the match, Gwidon Cwojdak notched a goal, 8-0, to the right of Racing Club【LBF】's Marcelo Eufemio. Marcelo Eufemio was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Marcelo Eufemio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from 余永川, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
