After a rather tough play, SK Mons's Gust Van Dijck got a free kick in the 7th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Radoslaw Zagrodny in the 8th minute of play forced SK Mons's goalkeeper Connor Osmond to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cornel Ulici's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Shi Guo Wen firmly grabbed it by the left post. 13 minutes into the match, BRUGGE FC's goalkeeper Shi Guo Wen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Steven Puttemans. Shi Guo Wen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Steven Puttemans, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 27 minutes into the game, BRUGGE FC's Imre Szabó nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Connor Osmond made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. SK Mons's Connor Osmond played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Radoslaw Zagrodny in the 29th minute of play. Rui Avelar might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Connor Osmond. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rui Avelar ran back to his position shaking his head. 32 minutes into the game, Gust Van Dijck was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SK Mons's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave BRUGGE FC the free kick. Connor Osmond took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Petrigai Guau, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Connor Osmond stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rui Avelar's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. When BRUGGE FC's Rui Avelar in the 40th minute got a chance for a shot 40th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SK Mons's goalie prevented a goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Petrigai Guau was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes into the game, Rui Avelar recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Connor Osmond. Rui Avelar showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. The supporters of SK Mons booed when BRUGGE FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mahmut Aurelio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mahmut Aurelio kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. In the 58th minute Trevor Eubank shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Shi Guo Wen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. BRUGGE FC's Shi Guo Wen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Trevor Eubank in the 63rd minute of play. After 66 played minutes SK Mons got a freekick which was hit by Steven Puttemans. In the 67th match minute, SK Mons was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christoph Van den Berch to maneuver through the defense. Petrigai Guau could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Connor Osmond made a huge save. Connor Osmond made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Petrigai Guau in the 71st minute of play. SK Mons's Connor Osmond played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rui Avelar in the 77th minute of play. Remzi Nuri charged in rather forcefully in the 80th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Remzi Nuri the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Remzi Nuri kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. In the 82nd minute, Rui Avelar ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Connor Osmond was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Steven Puttemans hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Connor Osmond took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rui Avelar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Radoslaw Zagrodny's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Connor Osmond read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. BRUGGE FC played a much better game than SK Mons and deserved their victory. The SK Mons players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
