When the match clock showed 3 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Sebastian Caicedo sped through Newells Old Boys's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Semail Kılıçer. Csaba Tar scored 0-2 in the 14th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Semail Kılıçer, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Lokman Sağlamtürk could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Texeira Adan made a huge save. Semail Kılıçer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Csaba Tar in the 20th minute of the match. The supporters of Hogwarts booed when Newells Old Boys was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lokman Sağlamtürk didn't get a good kick on the ball. Semail Kılıçer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sebastian Caicedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. After 33 played minutes Newells Old Boys got a freekick which was hit by Lokman Sağlamtürk. Newells Old Boys's Semail Kılıçer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adrian Oces in the 36th minute of play. Texeira Adan was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Alptuğ Behram. A collision led to Newells Old Boys getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Lokman Sağlamtürk hit a great ball. Texeira Adan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kenny N'Diaye, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kenny N'Diaye to strike the kick off in the second half. Texeira Adan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 87th minute, Csaba Tar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hogwarts's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
