The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Perivaldo Salles during the 7th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in SE Palmeiras's zone, Kurt Myr stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nilson Dracena came out of the goal and Kurt Myr tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Per-Erik Juhlin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Nilson Dracena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kurt Myr fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nilson Dracena having to interfere. Didi Ramos charged in rather forcefully in the 78th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Didi Ramos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Didi Ramos hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Nilson Dracena yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-5. The Green Fairies's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
