Through an outstanding action, after 20 minutes, Eduardo Pereyra successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Basarab Panduru's late challenge caught a PaoK Neapoleos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Basarab Panduru helped the player get up and apologised. Eduardo Pereyra made an important save on a dangerous shot by Argyris Stokas in the 27th minute. When the match had gone on for 28 minutes, Panagiotis Psaris put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Eduardo Pereyra. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nazım Taci to make the kick off.
