Qikiqtarjuaq FC's Abel Bueno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jiang De in the 9th minute of play. Michael Owen struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Samuel Fiúza didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Qikiqtarjuaq FC. Qikiqtarjuaq FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Miki Jungslund in the 20th minute. A nice corner shot did that Miki Jungslund got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Samuel Fiúza quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Gremio Viana's Augustin Panaiteanu quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Mario Dostie, made in the 24th minute of the game. Abel Bueno made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jiang De in the 27th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ilgaz Şirvan in the 28th minute of play forced Gremio Viana's goalkeeper Samuel Fiúza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ilgaz Şirvan in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Samuel Fiúza prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 32 minutes into the match, Qikiqtarjuaq FC's goalkeeper Abel Bueno had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jiang De. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jiang De in the 34th minute of play forced Qikiqtarjuaq FC's goalkeeper Abel Bueno to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 35 minutes into the match, Qikiqtarjuaq FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jiang De came free, but Abel Bueno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 37thth minute of the game Jiang De who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Qikiqtarjuaq FC's Abel Bueno was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Jiang De had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Qikiqtarjuaq FC made a substitution. Daron Keen replaced Mario Dostie. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jiang De made a kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jiang De in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Abel Bueno saved Qikiqtarjuaq FC from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ilgaz Şirvan in the 56th minute of play forced Gremio Viana's goalkeeper Samuel Fiúza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Qikiqtarjuaq FC's Hilario Slaughter was substituted for Gary Thomason. 58 minutes had been played when some careless play by Gremio Viana's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Miki Jungslund was slow to take the kick. During this time Qikiqtarjuaq FC's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Qikiqtarjuaq FC's Miki Jungslund to fire away a dangerous shot which Samuel Fiúza despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Jiang De might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Abel Bueno. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jiang De ran back to his position shaking his head. Abel Bueno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jiang De in the 61st minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ilgaz Şirvan got free with Samuel Fiúza in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Miki Jungslund made a great header on Qikiqtarjuaq FC's corner, it was just that Gremio Viana's Samuel Fiúza managed to reach the ball for a save. Tony Påk received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Abel Bueno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Samuel Fiúza breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Carlos Luna took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Abel Bueno. Abel Bueno dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Gremio Viana fans cheered their team off the field, for while Qikiqtarjuaq FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
