Montesacro FC's Loco Palermo got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, FC Grivata's Thomas Sørensen got control of the ball when Egil Sjögren tried to sneak it across the goal line. Giacomo Casanova made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Trendafil Tashevski in the 8th minute of play. FC Grivata's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Kristian Brolin in the 9th minute. The corner ended in Kristian Brolin almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Montesacro FC's Giacomo Casanova did a great save. In the 12thth minute of the game Loco Palermo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Grivata's Thomas Sørensen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 13 minutes into the match, FC Grivata's goalkeeper Thomas Sørensen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Egil Sjögren. The audience thought a goal was coming when Egil Sjögren got free with Thomas Sørensen in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Grivata's goalkeeper Thomas Sørensen, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Thomas Sørensen made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Georg Skoglund sent off a good shot on target. Montesacro FC were awarded a corner in the 25th minute after FC Grivata's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Paolo Rossi took the corner. Paolo Rossi made a great header on Montesacro FC's corner, it was just that FC Grivata's Thomas Sørensen managed to reach the ball for a save. Giacomo Casanova made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Trendafil Tashevski in the 28th minute of play. In the 29th minute Trendafil Tashevski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Giacomo Casanova saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 32nd minute of the game. One of FC Grivata:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Montesacro FC:s goal. FC Grivata's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Paolo Rossi ran over to the corner to take the kick. Thomas Sørensen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Egil Sjögren's shot from short distance in the 51st minute. In the 52nd minute Trendafil Tashevski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Giacomo Casanova saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Egil Sjögren in the 54th minute of play forced FC Grivata's goalkeeper Thomas Sørensen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 57th minute Loco Palermo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thomas Sørensen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After taking down the ball on Montesacro FC's corner Juliusz Julien fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Thomas Sørensen quite easily take care of the ball. In the 70th match minute, Montesacro FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juliusz Julien to maneuver through the defense. 74 minutes into the game, Montesacro FC's Egil Sjögren nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Thomas Sørensen made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Thomas Sørensen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Egil Sjögren, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. 78 minutes into the game, Montesacro FC's Egil Sjögren nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Giacomo Casanova didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Grivata. When the referee ended the match the Montesacro FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
