The crowd rose to their feet as Felippe Favoretto kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Caco Azevedo. That made the score 1-0 in the 18 minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tanek Weyna got free with Caco Azevedo in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. SORRISO E. C.'s Caco Azevedo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save SORRISO E. C. from getting a goal against them. In the 39th minute, Murilo Prestes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 40 minutes into the match, SORRISO E. C.'s goalkeeper Caco Azevedo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Olof Söderkvist. Caco Azevedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felippe Favoretto, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. In the 43rd minute, Cléber da Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cristian Chivu made in the 45th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by SORRISO E. C.'s Válbson Machado. After a rather tough play, SORRISO E. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Felippe Favoretto to strike the kick off in the second half. 56 minutes into the match, Felippe Favoretto notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of SORRISO E.
