Ueli Siegenthaler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Corneliu Vulpăşin having to interfere. In the 4th minute, Petrică Ţirpescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ueli Siegenthalers short, quick shot in the 6thth minute got Corneliu Vulpăşin to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The supporters of Unicorns ™ booed when Fire Devils was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lajos Wenzel didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 12th match minute, Unicorns ™ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Denis Negruț to maneuver through the defense. After 20 minutes of play, Unicorns ™'s Rareș Papadima made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Toto Caputo was left in no man's land by his defense there! The crowd rose to their feet as Fire Devils's Andreas Furcas slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Corneliu Vulpăşin. That made the score 1-1 after 23 minutes of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ueli Siegenthaler got free with Corneliu Vulpăşin in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ueli Siegenthaler recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Samuel Giger could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Corneliu Vulpăşin made a huge save. Toto Caputo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rareș Papadima, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Samuel Gigers short, quick shot in the 34thth minute got Corneliu Vulpăşin to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After 44 minutes of play, Unicorns ™'s Tudor Bodea made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Toto Caputo was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 47th minute, Tudor Bodea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Falko Domini sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Corneliu Vulpăşin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andreas Furcas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Ueli Siegenthaler came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Fire Devils fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ueli Siegenthaler couldn't finish the play. In the 65th minute Andreas Furcas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Corneliu Vulpăşin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Toto Caputo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rareș Papadima in the 74th minute of the match. Unicorns ™'s Corneliu Vulpăşin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ueli Siegenthaler in the 77th minute of play. Fire Devils's Toto Caputo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save Fire Devils from getting a goal against them. If Ueli Siegenthaler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Tudor Bodea managed to get in a good position for a shot. Unicorns ™'s supporters rose to their feet, but Tudor Bodea was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Toto Caputo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Petrică Ţirpescu got free with Toto Caputo in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Toto Caputo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tudor Bodea in the 91st minute of the match. Tudor Bodea hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match.
