In the 16th minute, Cristóbal Lataste ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ovidio Sal was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in CDU Católica's zone, Bogdan Gopov stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Salamón Del Fierro came out of the goal and Bogdan Gopov tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ovidio Sal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tauro Fontecilla, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Salamón Del Fierro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patricio Iratxo in the 27th minute of the match. Salamón Del Fierro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ermegildo Heriberto, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. After 63 played minutes CDU Católica got a freekick which was hit by Sergi Goyenechea. Cristóbal Lataste fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ovidio Sal having to interfere. Salamón Del Fierro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Punta Alvear. Cristóbal Lataste scored 4-0 in the 94th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ovidio Sal, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
