The supporters of Cacciola booed when Ballet Azul was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Santiago Cardenas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Leonel Sánchez hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. 5 minutes into the match, Federico Frabetti notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Ballet Azul's José Luis Chilavert. José Luis Chilavert was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 12 minutes into the game, Dario Marziali was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cacciola's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ballet Azul the free kick. After 12 played minutes Cacciola got a freekick which was hit by Dario Marziali. Waclaw Dombrowski was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 13th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Cacciola's Paulo Renato Bittencourt got a free kick in the 15th minute. In the 17th minute Ballet Azul were awarded a corner. Waclaw Dombrowski went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Cacciola's goalie and right to Eladio Ulloa. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Cacciola's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. In the 20th match minute, Ballet Azul was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Santiago Cardenas to maneuver through the defense. Cacciola's Eugenio Bartolomucci played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eulalio Callejas in the 22nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eulalio Callejas in the 23rd minute of play forced Cacciola's goalkeeper Eugenio Bartolomucci to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eugenio Bartolomucci made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from René Puente in the 24th minute of play. With an all-out effort, Cacciola's José Luis Chilavert threw himself towards the right post 28 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Enrico Brambilla, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Eugenio Bartolomucci took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eladio Ulloa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 30 minutes of play, Ballet Azul's Esequiel Dohrmann made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Eugenio Bartolomucci was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, Ballet Azul's Leonel Sánchez got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Ballet Azul's José Luis Chilavert proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Ballet Azul from getting a goal against them. Eugenio Bartolomucci took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eladio Ulloa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers René Puente in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eugenio Bartolomucci saved Cacciola from getting behind. In the 38th minute Eulalio Callejas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eugenio Bartolomucci saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by René Puente in the 43rd minute of play forced Cacciola's goalkeeper Eugenio Bartolomucci to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nahuel Cunningham hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Eugenio Bartolomucci made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Esequiel Dohrmann in the 48th minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

A nice corner shot did that Waclaw Dombrowski got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Eugenio Bartolomucci quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 61st match minute, Cacciola was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulo Renato Bittencourt to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot 62 in the game by René Puente from a close distance when the talented Eugenio Bartolomucci managed to make a qualified save. Cacciola's players were relieved. José Luis Chilavert made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Armando Toppi in the 63rd minute of play. Eugenio Bartolomucci made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Esequiel Dohrmann sent off a good shot on target. In the 68th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cacciola's goalkeeper Eugenio Bartolomucci, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. José Luis Chilavert showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Federico Frabetti in the 91st minute of the match. Odín Enríquez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 93rd minute of the match, but Eugenio Bartolomucci made a huge save. Eladio Ulloa scored 1-2 in the 96th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Eugenio Bartolomucci, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
