Felix Pierucci scored 1-0 in the 9th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bogdan Lobonț, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 12th minute, 1. FC Union Weberei's Owain Wollenmann seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Owain Wollenmann the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of 1. FC Union Weberei protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Owain Wollenmann had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Heiner Studer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Isac Mihălțan, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. 19 minutes into the game, Kubrat Delkov was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The audience thought a goal was coming when Casimir Wickihalter got free with Bogdan Lobonț in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 26th minute, Bonifatius Scarano reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Bogdan Lobonț. The goal made the score 2-0. FC Union Weberei's goal looked a bit too open when Isac Mihălțan came free, but Heiner Studer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Isac Mihălțan got free with Heiner Studer in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Nico Gruenewald had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 1. FC Union Weberei's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
