Jacinto de Lara's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Filomeno Santana read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 6th minute of play. Jacinto de Lara succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 7th playminute. In the 15th minute Artur Caldas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antônio Borges saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, AD FAFE's David Rocastle got a free kick in the 17th minute. In the 25th minute, PIRATAS TFP's Jacinto de Lara dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. After taking down the ball on PIRATAS TFP's corner Clemente Pires fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Filomeno Santana quite easily take care of the ball. After 30 played minutes AD FAFE got a freekick which was hit by Jacinto Ponte. A collision led to AD FAFE getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. David Rocastle hit a great ball. 35 minutes into the game, Nick van Goetsenhoven was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. AD FAFE's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave PIRATAS TFP the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in AD FAFE fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 35th minute. Penalty! AD FAFE:s Filomeno Santana showed great skill when he stopped Clemente Pires:s penalty. Clemente Pires did an outstanding performance 37 minutes into the match, when he by himself got past the opposing team's defense and with a quick scored 3-0 to the right of an irritated Filomeno Santana in the goal. 42 minutes into the game, PIRATAS TFP's Jacinto de Lara nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Filomeno Santana made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. Filomeno Santana showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jacinto de Lara, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jacinto de Lara stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. David Rocastle hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Jacinto de Lara took the ball and in the 64 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Filomeno Santana. Filomeno Santana dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-0. After a rather tough play, AD FAFE's David Rocastle got a free kick in the 67th minute. 68 minutes into the match, Jacinto de Lara had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Filomeno Santana. AD FAFE's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jacinto de Lara was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jacinto de Lara in the 70th minute of play forced AD FAFE's goalkeeper Filomeno Santana to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Noel Regueira in the 75th minute of play forced PIRATAS TFP's goalkeeper Antônio Borges to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Antônio Borges made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Noel Regueira sent off a good shot on target. In the 80th minute AD FAFE were awarded a corner. Jacinto Ponte went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on AD FAFE's corner Jacinto Ponte fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Antônio Borges quite easily take care of the ball. Filomeno Santana didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jacinto de Lara went, in the 83rd minute, to the upper right corner, 8-0 was the resulting score. In the 91st minute, Jacinto de Lara made a precise shot to the right of Filomeno Santana. AD FAFE's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 9-0. Noel Regueira's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Antônio Borges read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 95th minute of play.
