Karaelmas's supporters rose to their feet, but Bican Cesur was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Per-Erik Hjortberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 9 played minutes Rothwell Park got a freekick which was hit by Sammy Keino. In the 15th minute, Adolfo Salvino made a precise shot to the right of Yetkin Osmanoğulları. Karaelmas's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Karaelmas's Bican Cesur got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mustafa Barış Ensar really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. In the 47th minute of the match Rothwell Park got a corner. Karaelmas's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Sammy Keino ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Rothwell Park's Sammy Keino to fire away a dangerous shot which Yetkin Osmanoğulları despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Adolfo Salvino in the 52nd minute of play forced Karaelmas's goalkeeper Yetkin Osmanoğulları to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A throw-in in the 57th minute of the game was made by Çağan Mürsel with Eser Saraç as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bican Cesur in the 59th minute of play forced Rothwell Park's goalkeeper Per-Erik Hjortberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Yetkin Osmanoğulları took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adolfo Salvino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Per-Erik Hjortberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bican Cesur in the 69th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bican Cesur in the 69th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Per-Erik Hjortberg prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Per-Erik Hjortberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mustafa Barış Ensar in the 72nd minute of play. Bican Cesur took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Per-Erik Hjortberg. Per-Erik Hjortberg dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Rothwell Park made a substitution. Githinji Ntalami replaced Neymar Mané. If Adolfo Salvino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind Karaelmas's goalkeeper Yetkin Osmanoğulları, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 87th minute, Rothwell Park's Adolfo Salvino dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-3. If Mustafa Barış Ensar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Although Karaelmas had been in control for most of the match, Rothwell Park still came away with the win.
