Casimiro Ugutz might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sune Rudberg. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Casimiro Ugutz ran back to his position shaking his head. Sune Rudberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Casimiro Ugutz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Boleslaw Dres could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Vicky Donda made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Stal Sanok's zone, Casimiro Ugutz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sune Rudberg came out of the goal and Casimiro Ugutz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The supporters of Stal Sanok booed when Nouvelle Vague was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cayetano Cordaro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nouvelle Vague's Osmar Vale was substituted for Vito Genovese. In the 57th minute, Cayetano Cordaro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Casimiro Ugutz got free with Sune Rudberg in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Nouvelle Vague were awarded a corner in the 64th minute after Stal Sanok's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Juninho Juni took the corner. Nouvelle Vague's Vicky Donda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Boleslaw Dres in the 67th minute of play. Casimiro Ugutz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Sune Rudberg made a huge save. Sune Rudberg was a little too slow when Casimiro Ugutz got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 71st minute. The score was now 0-3. Nouvelle Vague made a substitution. Anselmo Dracena replaced Juninho Juni. Nouvelle Vague's Luis Henrico was substituted for Casimiro Ugutz. In the 76th minute, Luis Henrico got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luis Henrico fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sune Rudberg having to interfere. 79 minutes into the match, Stal Sanok's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Henrico came free, but Sune Rudberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Stal Sanok's Sune Rudberg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save Stal Sanok from getting a goal against them. In the 83rd minute, Nouvelle Vague's Luis Henrico dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-4. Vicky Donda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dragoş Antoniu, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Stal Sanok's zone, Luis Henrico stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sune Rudberg came out of the goal and Luis Henrico tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Nouvelle Vague walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
