With an all-out effort, SAS's Dei Torrent threw himself towards the right post 35 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Agostinho Carneiro, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tabor Canillas in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Willian Negri saved SAS from getting behind. With an all-out effort, SAS's Dei Torrent threw himself towards the right post 39 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Durval Simões, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 41st match minute, SAS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nilmar de Queiroz to maneuver through the defense. Tabor Canillas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Willian Negri read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. Tabor Canillas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
