The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Anders Larsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Liberto Jofre, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. In the 10th minute, Ezequiel Padro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 11th minute, Cecilio Seber ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Feijo Zárate was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Anders Larsson came out of the goal in the 15th minute to try and stop a shot by HORTALEZA FC's Víctor Cartagena. But to his dismay, Víctor Cartagena quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. In the 18th minute, Aldo Otoniel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Club Atletico Fenix booed when HORTALEZA FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alex Gómez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Feijo Zárate showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cecilio Seber, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. 21 minutes into the match, Lukasz Fafinski had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Feijo Zárate. HORTALEZA FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lukasz Fafinski was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Anders Larsson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Víctor Cartagena in the 25th minute. Víctor Cartagena kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. After 30 minutes HORTALEZA FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Fabian Arenaza who took care of the corner kick. In the 33rd minute HORTALEZA FC were awarded a corner. Glauke Mihas went to the cornerflag to take it. Romeo Cresenciano thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Anders Larsson, a very annoying self made goal in the 33rd minute which led to 2-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zhang Ang Zhen got free with Anders Larsson in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Anders Larsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Víctor Cartagena in the 38th minute of the match. When the match clock showed 40 minutes, the score became 2-3 when Cecilio Seber sped through HORTALEZA FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Feijo Zárate. A collision led to HORTALEZA FC getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Manuel Darroja hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Cecilio Seber managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Atletico Fenix's supporters rose to their feet, but Cecilio Seber was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Feijo Zárate breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 2-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cecilio Seber was the one to do the kick off. Feijo Zárate took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jacinto Olentzaro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Club Atletico Fenix were awarded a corner in the 54th minute after HORTALEZA FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Fabian Arenaza took the corner. In the 57th match minute, HORTALEZA FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zhang Ang Zhen to maneuver through the defense. Club Atletico Fenix made a substitution. Viteazul Joita replaced Romeo Cresenciano. Club Atletico Fenix's Eskil Åkesson was substituted for Cecilio Seber. A collision led to HORTALEZA FC getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Club Atletico Fenix's Anders Larsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Macerio Zaplana in the 76th minute of play. Lukasz Fafinski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 83 minutes into the match, Club Atletico Fenix's goal looked a bit too open when Liberto Jofre came free, but Anders Larsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Anders Larsson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Liberto Jofre's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. In the 84th minute of the match, Eskil Åkesson got a very nice opportunity to score, but Feijo Zárate was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Liberto Jofre in the 87th minute of play forced Club Atletico Fenix's goalkeeper Anders Larsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 89th minute of the match HORTALEZA FC got a corner. Club Atletico Fenix's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Glauke Mihas ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 89th minute, Víctor Cartagena hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 94thth minute of the game Liberto Jofre who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Club Atletico Fenix's Anders Larsson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Anders Larsson didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when HORTALEZA FC's Liberto Jofre shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 5-3 in the ordered_time% minute. For all the effort they put into the match, the Club Atletico Fenix players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for HORTALEZA FC.
