A collision led to NEWELL´S OLD BOYS getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Vinicio Walme hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's zone, Guillaume Chaine stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. 俞锋烽 came out of the goal and Guillaume Chaine tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Valette Stars's Nelson Nogueira got a free kick in the 36th minute. The supporters of NEWELL´S OLD BOYS booed when Valette Stars was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Karol Rakoski didn't get a good kick on the ball. 48 minutes into the game, NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Conrado Lluciano nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Adrien Tanneau made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Guillaume Chaine was the one to do the kick off. In the 63rd of the match, Guillaume Chaine tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but 俞锋烽 got in the way and made a wonderful save. 俞锋烽 showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guillaume Chaine, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Celso Vidigal got free with 俞锋烽 in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 73 minutes NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Fabian Walme who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Celso Vidigal got away a dangerous shot. Despite this 俞锋烽 quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After 73 minutes, Celso Vidigal made it 1-3 with a short kick to the right side. NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's 俞锋烽 tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Robustiano Crispo quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Mathys Chassot, made in the 75th minute of the game. In the 77th minute, Valette Stars's Guillaume Chaine ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind 俞锋烽. 俞锋烽 yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-4. Hermengildo Cordeara struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Adrien Tanneau didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for NEWELL´S OLD BOYS. Adrien Tanneau made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Conrado Lluciano in the 88th minute of play.
