Godofredo Maule made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Ramon Pueblo sent off a good shot on target. In the 30th minute, Lisandro Gudesteo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Big Hands showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Shao Wei Wei in the 34th minute of the match. 35 minutes into the game, Shao Wei Wei cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Big Hands was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Cirilo Arlo in the 72nd minute of play forced San Martin de Tucumán's goalkeeper Godofredo Maule to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
