Kevin Mier took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maicon Arruda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gildo Furtado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rian Giggs in the 8th minute of the match. In the last second Gildo Furtado throw himself and got hold of the ball when Antonio Masciarelli in the 10thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. In the 10th minute Antonio Masciarelli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gildo Furtado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sabaneta FC were awarded a corner in the 16th minute after America FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Fabian Lawrence took the corner. Gildo Furtado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antonio Masciarelli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cássio Correia struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Gildo Furtado didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sabaneta FC. In the 23rd minute Rian Giggs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gildo Furtado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A hard shot 26 in the game by Cássio Correia from a close distance when the talented Gildo Furtado managed to make a qualified save. America FC's players were relieved. With a little luck, America FC's Gildo Furtado got control of the ball when Cássio Correia tried to sneak it across the goal line. America FC's Gildo Furtado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antonio Masciarelli in the 30th minute of play. Antonio Masciarelli received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Gildo Furtado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gildo Furtado stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rian Giggs's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. In the 36th minute Sabaneta FC were awarded a corner. Fabian Lawrence went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Rian Giggs almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but America FC's Gildo Furtado did a great save. The supporters of America FC booed when Sabaneta FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Petri Romuroso didn't get a good kick on the ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Maicon Arruda was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Cássio Correia had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gildo Furtado. America FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cássio Correia was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Brun Bucaran sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 63rd minute, Guaberto Paio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sabaneta FC's Yoel Magarinos was substituted for Bonifaco Corrillos. Sabaneta FC made a substitution. Osmundo Bolde replaced Fabian Lawrence. After 65 played minutes Sabaneta FC got a freekick which was hit by Guaberto Paio. With 66 minutes on the clock, Zeru Recino commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 65th minute of the game. One of Sabaneta FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of America FC:s goal. Kevin Mier had in the 67thth minute some difficulties stopping Jonas Dracena's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Rian Giggs took the ball and in the 71 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gildo Furtado. Gildo Furtado dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rian Giggs in the 75th minute of play forced America FC's goalkeeper Gildo Furtado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sabaneta FC's Osmundo Bolde was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Gildo Furtado in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Gildo Furtado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rian Giggs in the 80th minute of play. Gildo Furtado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rian Giggs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gildo Furtado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rian Giggs, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rian Giggs in the 85th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gildo Furtado prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Sabaneta FC getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Antonio Masciarelli hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Sabaneta FC's Antonio Masciarelli got a free kick in the 91st minute. Maicon Arruda could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 93rd minute of the match, but Kevin Mier made a huge save. After 95 played minutes, America FC's Jonas Dracena shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Kevin Mier came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in America FC reached it. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Sabaneta FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while America FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
