In the 17th minute, Jerry Nykvist ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Virgilio Rojas was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Rui Patrício showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Macho Madrigal in the 21st minute of the match. After a rather tough play, PUNTARENAS F.C's Vinicio Medina got a free kick in the 23rd minute.
